On January 25, 2013, DREDF, with cosigning organizations Disability Rights California, Disability Rights Legal Center, and Legal Aid Society – Employment Law Center, submitted comments and recommendations to protect access as California state courts transition to e–filing and e-service systems. The letter was part of a larger joint legal aid system comment that included the Legal Aid Association of California (LAAC). Our shared purpose was to underscore the value of electronic access to marginalized communities – and how to not squander this opportunity for improvements.
