QCDs Make a Difference and Enhance Tax Efficiency
Whether you’re a longtime donor to DREDF, a seasoned philanthropist, or exploring charitable giving for the first time, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) offer a unique avenue to maximize your impact and create a legacy of positive change.
QCDs are direct transfers of funds from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to an eligible charitable organization, like DREDF. This strategy offers a unique way for people who are 70½ years or older to support charitable organizations while potentially reducing taxable income. For those who qualify, QCDs allow you to make charitable donations directly from your IRA up to a specified amount. By making these direct transfers, you may satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution while potentially lowering your taxable income.
Benefits of QCDs:
- Fulfilling Required Minimum Distributions: QCDs can be used to meet the mandatory annual distribution requirements for IRA account holders aged 70½ and older.
- Tax Advantages: With a QCD, you may reduce your taxable income, contributing to a more tax-efficient giving strategy.
- Maximizing Impact: A direct contribution to DREDF ensures that your support has an immediate impact.
Ready to take advantage of QCDs?
You must meet specific eligibility criteria, including age requirements and IRA ownership.
