The Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF) and the Center for Independent Living (CIL) invite you to a special screening and discussion of Change, Not Charity: The Americans with Disabilities Act.

Change, Not Charity tells the powerful story of the decades-long push for disability rights that led to the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990. While curb cuts, ramps, and accessible signage may seem standard today, they were the result of relentless activism and advocacy. Told through the voices of key participants and witnesses, the film highlights the activists who put their bodies on the line to secure equal rights and changed the lives of millions of Americans. This event is a unique opportunity to come together as a community, reflect on the past and future of disability rights, and engage in a conversation about accessibility, activism, and the ongoing fight for equality.
