When your child faces difficulties at school, you want to know what support the school can offer. Special education is one way schools provide support to eligible students. This can be a confusing and complex process, but as a parent, your involvement is essential.
This workshop provides Cantonese-speaking families with practical knowledge and tools to understand the special education process and to become true partners with their child’s school team.

You will learn what special education is, how the IEP process works, how IEP meetings are conducted, and how to ensure your input regarding your child is respected. Children truly thrive when schools and families understand one another.
