Revolutionary love takes many forms, from intimate love to community care to movements for self-determination.

Join CIL and DREDF for an evening centering revolutionary love, including:

– A special Bay Area community screening of the film Patrice: The Movie, a new documentary rom-com all about the next phase of marriage equality: disability.
– A panel discussion: How Our Struggles are Connected: Marriage Equality, Protecting Section 504 (the Rehabilitation Act), Disability & LGBTQ+ Rights (with a focus on trans rights).

This community film screening and panel discussion comes at a pivotal time, where people with disabilities still do not have marriage equality; where there are renewed threats to marriage equality for LGBTQIA+ people, and where there are emerging attacks on our trans, non-binary and genderqueer siblings weaponizing the Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act–the landmark disability rights that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities.

Access: The Ed Roberts Campus is a wheelchair accessible space above Ashby BART. Masks will be required and KN95 masks will be available. Light dinner and movie snacks provided in a separate space from the film screening. Captions and audio descriptions will be provided during the film. ASL interpretation will be provided.
