Karma Quick-Panwala has been a disability justice advocate for nearly 30 years. A proud member of the “ADA Generation,” Karma had an IEP from kindergarten through graduating high school and used disability accommodations in college, law school, and in the workplace.

Karma is a former participant in the Youth Leadership Forum and a former Miss Deaf Iowa. In law school, she served on the first executive board of the National Association of Law Students with Disabilities and interned with DREDF. One of her proudest advocacy moments was meeting with foreign dignitaries at the United Nations to advocate for accessible education and employment of girls and women with disabilities world-wide. Karma brings a wealth of experience to DREDF on top of thirteen years of special education advocacy work in the San Francisco Bay Area. She fully believes that there is #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs and proudly identifies as disabled.

Karma is a member of COPAA and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Bar Association. She obtained an A.A. from Cottey College, a B.A. from Central College, and a J.D. from New College of California School of Law. (Karma is not a licensed attorney.)

When she isn’t working or volunteering, Karma enjoys skiing and traveling with her family.
