Leah Kang is a Supervising Senior Attorney at DREDF. Prior to joining DREDF, Leah was a Senior Attorney at Disability Rights California, where her work focused on issues impacting youth with disabilities. She has also worked on a wide range of civil rights and racial justice issues as an attorney at the ACLU of North Carolina, Forward Justice in Durham, NC, and Advancement Project in Washington, DC. Leah teaches a negotiation course at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.
Leah clerked for The Honorable Theodore D. Chuang of the U.S. District Court of Maryland and The Honorable O. Rogeriee Thompson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School, and her B.A. in History, with a minor in Human Rights, cum laude from Columbia University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
Before law school, Leah was privileged to serve as a fifth-grade public school teacher in the Bronx, New York.
