Rachel Maida is an education and nonprofit leader with over 20 years of experience serving students, families, and educators. She began her career teaching Humanities and English at High Tech High and City Arts and Technology High School, where she designed project-based, interdisciplinary learning experiences and championed an equity-centered approach in the classroom.
In 2006, Rachel joined Envision Education, where she founded and led the organization’s first College Literacy Reading Intervention Program before going on to hold several leadership roles. As a founding member of Envision Learning Partners, she spent many years as Director of Business Operations, building the systems, partnerships, and fundraising infrastructure that helped the organization grow into a national practice.
Rachel now serves as Executive Director of RISE Scholars, where she brings her operations expertise and equity-centered approach to expanding student opportunity, mentorship, and academic enrichment for young people. She is passionate about creating systemic access to opportunity for all learners.
When Rachel isn’t at Bar Method or advocating for children with learning differences, she loves getting outside with her husband, two children, and her favorite mischievous dog, Rosie.
