The Affordable Care Act (ACA) expanded Medicaid eligibility for seniors and people with disabilities. These new programs, along with existing Medicaid services provide a critical path to both healthcare and long-term care, including home and community-based services for more than 10 million children and adults over 6 million seniors who have a disability. Medicaid also helps some people with disabilities work and pay taxes.
