Felicia joined DREDF as its inaugural Judy Heumann Legal Fellow in September 2024. They are a graduate from UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). Before attending law school, Felicia received their undergraduate degree in International Studies with a Minor in Social Advocacy, and their master’s degree in Women and Gender Studies.
Prior to joining DREDF, Felicia’s work focused on using the areas of post-conviction relief and litigation as tools to build community led strategies of safety to interrupt discriminatory policing, state violence, and surveillance. Their advocacy is rooted in a framework of disability justice that recognizes ableism as both a mechanism and byproduct of white supremacy, anti-Black racism, misogyny, eugenics, and state control.
