DREDF advocates for children with disabilities who are denied their rights at school. DREDF represents children with disabilities – disproportionately disabled children of color – who are disciplined, restrained, and handcuffed instead of receiving disability supports. We fight for children with disabilities who attend schools with such severe staffing shortages they are left isolated at home for weeks. We work to advance the rights of children with disabilities – including deaf and hard of hearing children and children with learning and trauma disabilities – who are denied the resources they need to acquire language and literacy.
