This webinar provides practical guidance in representing clients with disabilities, including those who may have diminished capacity. It reviews strategies for supporting capacity in legal representation, as well as ethical issues that can arise in the course of this representation. Specific topics include: supported decision making; effective communication; the impact of third parties on attorney client privilege; and California rules on “protective action,” including State Bar Ethics Opinion No. 13-0002.
