Like A Bad Zombie Movie, Obamacare Repeal Is Back!

Like an extended horror movie that just won’t end, news outlets and pundits alike are increasingly abuzz about Senate GOP efforts to squash Obamacare – yet again. The latest piece of proposed legislation to repeal/replace provisions of the Affordable Care Act needs to beat the September 30 deadline and like a pack of pesky zombies who once seemed dead the new bill, Graham-Cassidy, like the other GOP healthcare reform bills before it is suddenly making Obamacare repeal efforts seem very much alive. Or, at least, not quite yet dead.

A Delay is Good, but the Fight for Healthcare is Not Over

No Secrets in Healthcare Reform! Demand that the Senate #ShowUsTheBill

Senate Republicans are meeting in private to discuss proposed provisions of the AHCA at their caucus lunch from 12:30 to 2 pm Eastern. In a highly controversial and widely criticized move, the Senate has kept details of the bill secret, and indications are that they will not share specifics with the public until just before the vote.

National Day of Action in Opposition to the American Health Care Act

The latest amended attempt to revive the American Health Care Act (AHCA), the Republican bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA), is worse than the original bill. It will allow states to cut off people with disabilities from the general exchange pool and eliminate consumer protections such as bans on lifetime limits or benefit caps for such vital benefits as prescription drugs, mental health treatment and maternity benefits.

Take Action! The AHCA is a Very Bad Idea for People with Disabilities

Medicaid home and community-based services make it possible for Alana Theriault to work, live in her own home with her partner, spend time with friends, and be active in her community. If the American Health Care Act passes, all of that is at risk. Her life could be at risk.

Action Alert: Act Today to Protect Health Care!

Congressional leaders have declared that one of their first goals in the new Congress is to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA or Obamacare) and "replace" it. While Congress has passed many bills to repeal the ACA in the past, it was clear that President Obama would veto them. But this is not the case with President–elect Donald Trump who says he will sign an ACA repeal bill.
